Spring in their Steps

The Whittington in Bloom Team were out on Sunday preparing to reveal a brighter Village when winter is over and Spring begins.

This Sunday they were at Crosslands, bounding up onto the banking and ballancing in a precipitous manner whilst plunging their spades into the fertile earth.

The thanks of the village must go out to those hardy soulswho have risked backache in this noble cause. Very many thanks.

Crash Corner at a new Low

Mike Barr has kindly provided me with recent photo’s taken at Low Hall Corner.

The first records yesterdays event, with a newly arrived police car waiting to investigate the accident. I’m afraid that I know no more than that, at this point in time. However, it appears to be an excess speed event on the blind bend, once again.

The next photo is of the accident that occurred a week or so ago when the Police pursued a white Transit van that had been committing crimes in Bolton-le-Sands, and which finished by diving over the drystone wall on the bend, and burying itself in the field (10ft lower) at Low Hall Farm.
