Colin Hall reports that despite the turnout being somewhat less than previously the Whittington Community Litter Picking event, praised, by a Kirkby Lonsdale resident, in a recent post on Facebook was a rip roaring success.
In particular I am told that the B4RN volunteers were present in force cementing the passion they have for cooperative charitable ventures – well done to them.
There were no casualty’s on the B5274, despite it would seem, some close shaves.
Two days of picking resulted in 30+ (and still counting) bags of rubbish being gathered.
Sincere congratulations go to everyone who took part. On behalf of those sedentary, idle and incapacitated folk in the village, among whom I number myself, who were happy to bask in the praise lavished upon our villages by our neighbouring communities – thank you.
